App support
A little help for your next discovery.
Feather Trove runs privately on iPhone. These quick checks solve the most common photo-access and scanning questions.
Photos are missing
Open iOS Settings, choose Apps, Feather Trove, then Photos. Select Full Access to scan the entire library, or update your selected photos if you prefer limited access. Photos stored only in iCloud may take time to download before they can be analyzed.
A scan paused or stopped
Keep your iPhone charged and reopen Feather Trove. Use Resume Scan from Today or More. The app remembers completed work, so it does not need to start the library from the beginning. You can also choose Scan for New Photos after adding images.
A bird suggestion is wrong
Species suggestions are intentionally reviewable. Open the sighting to confirm a match, choose another suggestion, enter your own bird name, or mark the image as not a bird. These edits stay in your local archive.
Back up or remove your archive
The More tab can export your life list as a CSV file. Reset Feather Trove only when you intend to remove its local sightings and scan history. Photos in Apple Photos are not deleted by an archive reset.
Contact support
Feather Trove requires iOS 18 or later. If the steps above do not help, email aaron@ashapps.com with your iPhone model, iOS version, and a short description of what happened. Please do not attach private photos unless they are essential to your request.
